The architecture and urban design program adopts an environmentally conscious, community approach to architecture and design to address social issues. Maryland Institute College of Art

Whether students plan to pursue fine arts programs or search for the specific tools available in degree programs like toy design or environmental design, Otis College of the Arts has a full complement of majors and minors in visual and applied arts. It's a very large, private not-for-profit, four-year university in a large city.
All programs seek to deepen each student artist’s engagement with their work by developing visual perception skills and practice of technical processes. Students wishing to study art at Stanford must be admitted to the university through the general undergraduate admissions process. Extensive labs, workshops, and facilities accommodate student projects from book arts to goldsmithing. Galleries on campus and in the community host student exhibitions; fashion students participate in an annual benefit fashion show. BFAs in specialized fields like printmaking, illustration and animation, photography, and a certificate program in biomedical illustration make up just a few of this school’s offerings.
Students here are encouraged to forge their own pathways of study and supplement the Core Curriculum with electives across different mediums and fields. The Design Institute is a highly specialized college for students interested in studying interior design. Both the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA) sponsor student activities here. Students gain extensive insight into professional standards and practices through contact with working interior designers. At ArtCenter, students receive a comprehensive education in their chosen disciplines beginning on day one. There is no first-year general education program, so this school is ideal for students who know exactly what they want to study.
The renovation includes interior upgrades, structural reinforcements, and the adaptation of spaces for educational purposes, featuring classrooms, workshops, and laboratories across all floors. Additionally, the project encompasses administrative areas, exhibition spaces, and outdoor recreational areas. "We are preparing our students for their career professions, and we want to be able to distinguish ourselves," Said Naylor-Johnson. "A festival like this allows them to take a common element, the same materials, and the same amount of space and apply creativity to a unique solution. So today, you're seeing a lot of distinctive solutions."
Students may also work with the likes of Roni Horn, Richard Prince, Shirin Neshat, and Brent Howard; upon graduation they’ll join the alumni ranks of Eva Hesse, Richard Serra, Wangechi Mutu, and Dawoud Bey. Otis College of Art and Design offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide variety of visual and applied arts, media, and design, in addition to year-round Extension courses for all ages. Another excellent Los Angeles arts program, the Roski started offering classes in the late 19th century, making it one of the oldest programs on the list.
Students have access to Basement Gallery, an undergraduate-run exhibition space that displays student work, in addition to the Advanced Undergraduate Studio Space where students can reserve a space to work independently. Finally, the Visiting Artist Lecture Series gives students insight into what kinds of projects professional artists are currently working on. The Institute is highly career-focused and offers students the opportunity to collaborate on school projects with famous companies, such as Nike, Athleta, and TOMS.
