Students wishing to study art at Stanford must be admitted to the university through the general undergraduate admissions process. The Design Institute is a highly specialized college for students interested in studying interior design. Both the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA) sponsor student activities here. Students gain extensive insight into professional standards and practices through contact with working interior designers. At ArtCenter, students receive a comprehensive education in their chosen disciplines beginning on day one. There is no first-year general education program, so this school is ideal for students who know exactly what they want to study.
The renovation includes interior upgrades, structural reinforcements, and the adaptation of spaces for educational purposes, featuring classrooms, workshops, and laboratories across all floors. Additionally, the project encompasses administrative areas, exhibition spaces, and outdoor recreational areas. "We are preparing our students for their career professions, and we want to be able to distinguish ourselves," Said Naylor-Johnson. "A festival like this allows them to take a common element, the same materials, and the same amount of space and apply creativity to a unique solution. So today, you're seeing a lot of distinctive solutions."
Students may also work with the likes of Roni Horn, Richard Prince, Shirin Neshat, and Brent Howard; upon graduation they’ll join the alumni ranks of Eva Hesse, Richard Serra, Wangechi Mutu, and Dawoud Bey. Otis College of Art and Design offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide variety of visual and applied arts, media, and design, in addition to year-round Extension courses for all ages.
